Clifront
The City of Golden Grains
Nestled quietly along the Cabrid River within the southeastern provinces of the Itheasian Empire rests the thriving city of Clifront. Assimilated into the Empire during the last Great War some 300 years ago, Clifront owes much of its prosperity and financial security to the magical and technological advances provided to them by the Empire. The largest contribution being the construction of, Goldie, a grand water mill that harnesses the power of the Cabrid. Her construction has increased Cifront's growth potential exponentially making Clifront a desirable location for those looking to settle down in a world where security and safety can be hard to come by.
Demographics
Once assimilated into the Itheasian Empire Cifronts growth potential increased exponentially. With the financial security of the mill, temperate climate and centralized location within the Empire, Clifront has a population of primarily Humans with a sizable portion of Halflings, Dwarves, and Gnomes. Along with a smaller population of Tieflings and Half-Orcs and a minimal scattering of a few other races.
Government
External Empirical Structure
Clifront is within the Gatford province of the Empire, the province is under the control of Ban Stedd Heldchill who finds it best to govern Gatford from a distance, allowing each settlement to maintain and manage law and order in any way they seem fit. Requiring only that status reports and communications happen with regular frequency, monthly taxes be paid on time and that in times of war Clifront can provide the Empire or Province 300 able-bodied men/women.Internal Governmental Structure
The city is governed by the Clifront Representative Council, a group of 5 citizens, 4 are elected community members who hold office in a life term unless contested by another member of the community. The last member of the council is, by default, the Guard Captain. Each member oversees an aspect of the cities political state, from tax allocation to criminal disciplinary actions with major decisions being voted on by the 5 after providing the city time to voice its concerns and wishes in the matter.Defences
Clifront has 92 guardsmen, 60 of which are full time under the command of Guard Captain Lander Tallthral. The guard is primarily in charge of keeping the peace within the city. Should the need ever arise, The Empire pledges to protect its citizens by means of the Ileasian Militia.
Industry & Trade
The appearance of the Empire within the last century has also boosted Clifront's export capabilities with grain and cattle being their primary resources. The outskirts of the city contain almost 300 acres of wheat farms milled by the massive watermill in the center of the city and 150 acres of cattle ranches.
Infrastructure
Thanks to the Empire, Clifront boasts well paved and maintained roads, 2 bridges to connect the east and west sides of the city, an expanded watermill and a rather impressive sewer system. Though most structures and homesteads have yet to utilize the sewer systems' full potential.
Guilds and Factions
There is a collection of Artisans Guilds withing Clifront. The Farmers Coalition and the Courtesans Coven. It is also rumored that The Thieves Guild also has a small presence in the city.
Geography
Clifront is centrally located within the Itheasian Empire which provides great environmental protection to the city, such as, under most military scenarios, a guarantee that the town will never see war or home territory combat. It's to the south of the Great Braun Lake which spans over 150 miles, to the north of a mega tundra which spans the width of the continent and is near uninhabitable, and is flanked on either side by grasslands for miles.
Clifront is a wonderful city, it's a place that allows you to create a thriving and happy life. It could be due to the naturally accepting nature of the people, or because most people here have a less than ideal past and are okay with not asking questions.-Folza Uzbo
