The Inquisition

A military order of the Cantraian Church. Specialized in dealing with and combating the use of magic. Though has also been known to fight monsters if they threaten the interests of the Church. Though directly opposed to the use of magic, in recent times the Inquisition itself has been experimenting with the use of magic. Internally, the officers are divided on their stance on this practice: some believe it defiles everything they stand for, though others argue that those that possess these powers can be trained and used for the good of mankind, rather than exterminating them completely. Officially however, the Church denies any involvement in training mages. The members of the Inquisition are all specialized in fighting spellcasters, or magical creatures. As such, they have a vast knowledge of spells, and creatures which have appeared as part of the melding. Though there are other creatures out there which have not been recorded yet. Some inquisitors make it their live's work to amass as much knowledge as they can about these creatures.

Training

Members, before they are full inquisitors, will be subjected to a year long training, which prepares them for the threats they might face out in the world. This training includes physical training, but also theoretical training on the workings of magic, as well as a basic understanding of the Inquisition's Bestiary, which contains many strange creatures.
