Vedralath

A world of strange races, floating islands, underground cities, deadly monsters, and powerful magics. This world is recovering from an apocalyptic event that has made it unbelievably dangerous, especially at night or in dark places.   The whole world is gravely cursed by the spirits of those who died in the apocalypse and the gods of evil. Every night, zombies, Wights, and other undead roam the world in search of victims to add to the horde. There are also aberrations that stalk the night as well, meaning that in order to stay alive, cities must remain well lit and well defended.   Many people of the world seek the treasures and knowledge that existed in the old world, searching ancient tombs and temples for anything useful or particularly powerful, but many never return. It's believed that each continent has its own Grand Lich who is responsible for raising the dead.
