Kaiher Valley

This lush valley was once quite ordinary, but through a series of unlikely events it is now the epicenter of a planar convergence and which has had a great impact on the plants and animals that can be found here. Several species only exist in this particular small valley   Millenia ago the Kaiher valley was quite different from what it is today, in fact it wasn't even a valley. Instead it was a coastal part of the vast grasslands now known as the great wastes, and the location of the capitol of one of the greatest empires the world had ever seen. However, in the cataclysmic events linked with the fall of that empire and The coming of the endless night the area was not only transformed into a valley in the Rim mountains, but the barriers between the planes were broken down and twisted.   The thin interplanar barriers in this area has had immense impact on the environment and ecology that is to be found here. Following the devastation of the starfall vegetation and animals appeared in the area not only from the surroundings but also from other planes, most notably the elemental planes of water and earth. This meant that there are species in this region that used to call those planes home but now are adapting to life in the prime material plane, using the influence of their parental planes to sustain them.   Animals that normally exist in this region have also returned but few have remained unchanged. The conflux of planar energies impacts them as well and they have had to adapt cope both with surges of wild magic as well as with new predators and prey coming in from the connected planes.   What all of this has led to is a place with a flora and fauna that is completely unique across the multiverse and that is a prime target for studying the interactions of planar magical fields.
