Owen unpacked at his new house. Nathan went to train at the Chalice. Primeheart went to Kali’s temple to work on his calligraphy, writing script in an attempt to copy the information at the stations of the Dragon Mother. Pip auditioned people to run the food carts in his business.
Beer Forge
Finkoo, Nathan, and Mari were the first to show up for lunch. It was LOUD in the bar, despite being mostly empty. A group in the back was being especially raucous, seemingly made of giant folk: a hill giant, a troll, a goliath, and an ettin. They had blunt, archaic-looking weapons resting against the wall. The only other bar patron was Juveha, who was slowly dismembering gingerbread people. Nathan approached and asked if the group could sit with her. He then quickly described a method of dismemberment that Juveha hadn’t yet tried.
Pip attempted to quiet down the group of giants and ended up only encouraging their boisterous behavior, and ingratiating himself in the process. Ivy ended up showing him how to quiet them down, but the group still decided to head to the Tea Garden for quieter discussion.
Tea Garden
Nathan and Mari were congratulated on their engagement. Then, the group discussed finding ingredients for the unicorn horn wand. One of the items on the list stood out: the Moon Flame Lily. It was a black and red flower that was supposed to glow in full moonlight. They decided to go to Afra and see if she might have an idea of where to locate one.
Divine Foundry
Afra’s office door stood open and she invitedthe gang inside. They asked about the lily, and she said that they were rare, but she could look into it. She also told them that the guild hall would be ready soon and that she was going to be assigned, as the permanent liaison, to the group from the Sub-Rosarium. As the group left, Owen and Finkoo mentioned that the group might want to check in with Bezel, to see if he might be willing to trade for information or for an actual sample of the lily.
Clover House
The group arrived and scheduled a meeting with Bezel. Owen showed Bezel the remains of the Fate Eater, and told him about it. Bezel seemed to show interest in the material, and Owen asked about the Moon Flame Lily. Bezel asked the group to give him an hour to get some information on the lily.
They decided to wait so were shown quickly into the poker room by Mi, Bezel’s assistant. They waited for an hour or so, being treated to several games of poker, free drinks and refreshments. They met with Bezel again and he gave them the good news: he managed to get info on both the lily and a dragon egg, both of which the group wanted. Bezel requested both jars of material for both sets of information. The group took the dragon egg information, after being told by Bezel that the lily information may not be a fair trade for their second jar of material.
The Job
The egg was being stored in a carriage convoy. Each carriage would be going in different directions. The group got to the starting point for the convoy and assessed the situation. After some time and planning, Finkoo stealthed his way into the caravan with Binxie, getting the egg out of the caravan. As he did so, he noticed the tent had been sealed with him inside it.
He used his knife to start cutting out of the tent, with Kali going over to help him out. As the egg rolled out of the tent, two cloaked men confronted Kali and she ran away with the egg. Finkoo attempted to attack them, and a small combat broke out as some of the group fought and some ran. Eventually, Kali decided to head back and gave up the holy book, with the rest of the party watching what happened. The information that the party had received from Bezel had been created as a setup for the Fate Eaters to get Kali’s book.
After the Action
Primeheart comforted Kali after losing the book, and discovering that the dragon egg was a fake made of lead. Seldanna went back to her apartment, and heard Juveha packing her belongings. Seldanna didn’t confront her and let her leave. She didn’t return after that point.
Owen, Nathan, and Finkoo went back to Bezel to ask for a refund on the poor information. Bezel did apologize for the incorrect information, but he hadn’t set them up on purpose and didn’t believe he should garner all of the loss. Owen told Bezel he could keep the jar, if that constituted a promise to get them another lily flower. Bezel revealed he had some of the lily that the group wanted, and he would give it to Owen, for both jars right now. Owen agreed and took the lily from him. They then went to the Chalice to blow off steam, before getting very drunk.
