Morning
Lark visited the goblins to tell them the news about Jastra’s baby and asked them to expand his treehouse, which the goblins were very excited about. They looked forward to being the baby’s “god-blins”. Kali delivered eggs to Jastra, so she could have a good breakfast.
Mari and Seldanna visited Pinból's to look through the things that were being stored there for Seldanna. Pinból suggested they talk to Arlund about testing a new item to relieve their exhaustion. Oisin chose to stay home when they left, so that he could spend time with Pinból.
Owen trained with the guard and was watched by Vasafra. He talked to her and she explained that she might have found support for the group to become an adventuring guild. The support was from the Sub Rosarium, who would pay the cost for the group to become a guild in the form a of a loan. Repayment would be required within the year and a few jobs would have to be done for the SubRosarium. They would also expect the group to lobby in their favor with the city.
She told Owen that not all of the Council were happy with the idea of the group becoming a guild, because they had stood against the city before. Some were okay with it, because they knew the group had stood for a just government. Owen agreed to talk to everyone about it and get back to her.
The Beer Forge
Everyone met at the Beer Forge and they discussed Vasafra, and the agreement she offered Owen. While they agreed not to come to a decision, it was pointed out that the main issue with Vasafra was that she hadn't apologized for what she had done to Cyl. It was also pointed out they didn’t know much about the Sub Rosarium and should try to find out more before agreeing to anything.
They decided to stop by Arlund's before doing anything, so that the people who needed it could test the product and relieve their exhaustion. On their way out, Aldion entered the bar and told them that the ritual was ready to be performed to close the portal. They agreed to talk to Pinbol after seeing Arlund and possibly do that today.
Arlund's Alchemical Oddities
The group showed Seldanna where the shop was. When she saw the holy symbols, she was excited and looked for one to Bahl, because she hadn't seen any to him before. Arlund gave them what he was testing, small wafers labeled 1-5 that he called “Slumber”. He asked the people taking “Slumber” to record what they experienced. Lark offered to give him a painting that he planned to do while testing the wafers. He made the group sign consent forms and explained that the wafers had side effects, but should help make them less exhausted. The party decided to risk the side effects. Then they headed to Pinból's to test it there, because Arlund told them to take it in a safe place.
Pinból's Tower
The four who were exhausted sat to take the “Slumber”. Pinból joined the group and brought scrolls to Dispel Magic, in case something happened. They ate the wafers and all immediately fell asleep. After an hour, they woke up and all experienced a different effect.
Kali felt really lucky. Binxie appeared on Lark's shoulder and said he felt like he should do whatever his good friend Lark wanted to do. Seldanna believed she was a horse for a while. Mari sank through the floor and fell through the bottom of the house, she had become incorporeal.
Pinbol went after her, casting Feather Fall on himself and then on her. Kali, Lark, and Oisin ran out after them. Owen followed, keeping an eye on Seldanna, because she was still acting like a horse. Pinbol and Mari were safe on the roof. After a minute, Seldanna's mind cleared and she behaved normally again.
As the group started to go back inside, Seldanna, the last one going in, heard a scream. She used Sending to tell Owen, and everyone followed her out. The party comes across a crack in the ground, roughly where the portal was beneath the city.
Four spectral spirits were connected to people. As the party fought them, the people connected to them disappeared. When they were finally dispersed, the party hurried back to Pinból's to check on him. Before they left, Lark yelled Imelda's name down the crack and heard a little girl's giggle.
They found Pinból completely fine, reading a book. They talked about the incident, discussing that Imelda was escalating and agreed that the portal had to be closed the next day. The effects of closing the portal were also discussed.
Pinból said they had used divination magic to determine what will happen. It would kill Imelda. There shouldn't be any effect on Oisin or Saxi. Donovan was most likely dead already. It would likely kill the other people affected by the portal's magic as well. This included a young girl VKTR had worked with. Her name was Haley.
Pinból asked Lark what he would do if he knew he only had one more day alive, because Lark was the most positive person he’d ever known. Lark said that he would spend it with someone he cared about. Pinból gave Oisin a ring and asked them to marry him, even if it was just for the one day. Oisin said yes. Kali, who happened to have the spell prepared, performed Ceremony for them.
