Route of Curiosity
Purpose / Function
A trade route from Urbs to Norm cutting through wilderness making it exceptionally dangerous. Traveled only by Urbites, it's seen by many as a shortcut to wealth. Only the brave or stupid dare to attempt the journey.
The trail is uneven and overgrown due to lack of use. Fallen trees along with the occasional landslide need to be cleared before anyone can pass with their goods. If the event makes the trail impassable a new portion of the route needs to be created. As a result of this those who carry their inventory on their backs are more likely to be successful in their endeavors.
Residents in Norm find the strange mechanical objects brought over fascinating, increasing the value tenfold.
History
Blazed by explorers taking the safest route resulted in the odd indirect nature of the path. Only three of the original group completed the journey, the others having fallen to the savage wilderness. One the three survivors died from infected injuries shortly after returning home. The remaining two recorded their travels making a profit off selling books. These writings only fueled others into making the journey for their own gains.
The route has been made slightly easier after the extinction of Avisloe, at the very least the traders aren't actively being hunted.
Tourism
On occasion foolish Urbites will attempt to hike the trail out of sheer curiosity many wanting to see for themselves if the writings are true. Traveling alone or in a small group, these people are frequently woefully unprepared with not enough food or supplies. There has been only one known case of success and even that person's claims are scrutinized.
