Sunday, August 4, 2019

Last we left our heroes, the Phoenix Team had been reunited. Dean spent time over the weekend keeping Jack company as he recovered from his injuries. Meanwhile, Fenrir has applied to be a mechanic after expressing disillusionment with the world of the professional heroes. Katia has put in an order voucher with Gold Academy R&D for support items to assist with memory loss and a prosthetic arm.

After gathering at the hospital to receive the news from Jennifer. Katia has been temporarily demoted from her position as team captain and Cell has been suspended from team activity. While Fenrir saw no action taken against him, seemingly due to influence from his sister, and Vanish is to be recognized privately for his bravery in the future. No legal action has been taken against our heroes, however, unknown forces seem to have influenced the decision being made.

After leaving the hospital, Katia and Fenrir search for Chloe. Eventually tracking her to the mall where they reunite with the confused and disoriented young woman.

Plot points/Scenes

Post-scene

Horizon City was not always known as Horizon City. Originally it existed as a United States Blacksite. Officially deemed Facility Rizon 001, or R-001 for short. One of the scientific epicenters of the United States. Until its declassification in 1951. The city would grow outwards from the declassified lab. However, innovations did not cease.   Late Sunday Evening:

A black SUV pulls into a parking space outside of Facility Rizon 001. The driver's side door opens and a tall bald man emerges wearing a white lab coat carrying a suitcase. His build is semi athletic, and he walks with a certain purpose towards the entrance. A name tag swings from the left breast pocket of his coat which reads Quinton McHale.

As he makes his way to the card reader, he pauses as he hears the sound of a metallic thunk. He looks around for a moment but continues into the building when its source remains unclear. The laboratory is empty, except for a few individuals. Another thunk occurs behind him, followed by a second, then a third.

He says nothing but picks up his pace as he proceeds to a door that requires another scan of his ID. He quickly scans his ID as his eyes remain on a swivel. The door opens and a final thunk echoes down the hall just as the door closes.

Several moments pass of silence, as the man lays eyes upon a canister of swirling black matter. He freezes in place after he turns to find the shadow near the door is twice as large as it had been before. A short moment later, a dark-haired girl, wearing loose-fitting dark fabric emerges from the shadow. Her brown eyes staring him down.

"Do you have you no sense of urgency?" Scarlett asked

The man begins to speak, but from his mouth comes the voice of a woman, "Half of this is about playing a part you know... Anyway... Let the boss know that this was a success."

The man removes a canister from his suitcase and swaps it with the canister on the counter. Before handing Scarlett the original. Scarlett salutes briefly before disappearing into the same shadow she emerged from.

He waits a few moments before picking up his suitcase and exiting the secured laboratory.
