The Djinn Palace Alaouite

A Forgotten Palace

There are many Djinn palaces dotting the sandy landscape of Alk'kir. Some of them are very well hidden, requiring expert investigation to find them, and others are more obvious, standing on high mountains proclaiming their grandness. Alaouite is of the latter category. It stands high on the hill Ifiz, which is located at the foothills of the Western Mountains. Jutting into it are five bridges made of stone, suspended in the air. These bridges are lodged in the hill and disappear into dark entryways. Above all this is the Djinn palace itself. It is styled in the manner of the later Al-Aswad period, using many domes and bulbous pillars and decorations. The brilliant colors have since faded away to time and the desert wind.

Even after the resident Djinn was evicted, the palace was used by the local nobility. But ever since the conquests of Hod, the palace lies abandoned, only inhabited shortly by passing travelers seeking respite from the desert heat.

Adventure?

But underneath this place, deep in the earth, a buzzing can be heard. This place is not so abandoned, it seems. There are monsters that lie asleep here and wake when the harsh light of day fades into night. The lack of treasure found in Alaouite might, then, not be because of treasure-hunters and looters. Perhaps the monsters within have kept the gold safe...
