City of Florental
Summary
While most other so-called Outer States are more impoverished than their inner counterparts, Florental has, in general, escaped this fate due to its unique history. Having been colonized by Nelqora in ancient times - one of the few land-bound colonies - Florental was rich and well developed by the time of the Sundering of Nelqora.
The Kingdom of Florental's situation by the Revon Basin has also made it a choke point country. Its high hills are filled with castles both abandoned and still in use. Invaders that would go through Florental would be harassed throughout the whole journey.
Though Florental was a relatively developed colony, its violent and hilly terrain is not suitable for much farming. So while its countryside is still rather impoverished and unpopulated, its major population hubs are quite vibrant and wealthy by dealing in trade and the local gold industry.
The Kingdom of Florental's capital is a magnificent fortress built on a hill, rising upwards until you reach the palace itself. It bridges between various districts on other hills with dark, grey stonework. Windmills catching the high winds clutter up the crowded streets. Florental has been conquered many times, so its original construction doesn't remain - but for the foundations and the Court, the old stones of Nelqora have been torn down. The current capital is still quite old, dating from Year 200 of Huraedon.
