Session V: The Ruins of Pineview Report

General Summary

After finally reaching Pineview, the party found the ruins had been over run by spiders, blights, and a scant few undead. Making quick work of the obstacles that stood in their way, the found the hut that Reidoth had used for shelter. While he was in good health -- not so much good spirits -- he told them he had been unable to make his normal trips down to Miner's Grove due to the presence of a young dragon that had taken roost in the ruins. The party convinced him that they would deal with the dragon if, in return, he would allow them to accompany him back to Miner's Grove. Alas, upon reaching the tower where the dragon nested, the creature was out on the hunt. This, however, provided them ample time to loot the beast's horde. Before long, Diesa felt a sharp burn on her skin, originating from the shard that she had for so long dedicated herself to protecting. A roar shook the walls as the dragon returned, demanding its horde be placed back. Jihad dissented and was greeted with a toxic cloud of gas from the friend's gullet, nearly dying from the fumes. Mercy, reluctantly, pulled him from the tower, where Ender, and Tommy tried to deal with the threat, while Xialis and Diesa cowered in the lower level of the crumbling building. After several failed attempts to mount the jade monstrosity by Ender, Tommy, taking the necklace they had acquired in the barrow just days before, and allowed himself to be devoured, where he detonated the beads, eviscerating their foul for and saving the party from near certain death.
