Valkour

Demographics

Inhabitants

Valkours population comprises of Sea Elves and some Tritons, who are seen as rude and weary to outsiders due to the amount of wealth the city has. The refuse most scholars, only making exceptions every hundred years. Not many become a permeate residence but can if they will accept if they pay the right price, or they know the right people. The Sea Elves welcome their fellow elves even if the bloodline is just a little.

Wealth Classes

The more money, the more power you have, with the middle class being able to vote. Though the more wealthy can sway votes with bribery, the way to survive in this city is with money, so the poor are next to nonexistent due to them not able to pay for their weight. They usually get thrown out, but on rare occasions, they get purged.

Professions

People of Valkour pride themselves in their arts and crafts, showing off their newest achievements. Makes anything thing that is an art form the most common trade, though they do like using shark calvary and have the basics of their weapons down. Though they do not worry about their culture getting destroyed.

Government

Taxation isn't that worrying since the majority of government funding is "donated" by those in power. Laws are lax since everyone wants to make the most money as they possibly can, though killers are not tolerated. Most matters get settled in the courts where the greediest and most convincing sides win.

Defences

Valkour is located in a coral reef, entirely hidden by a gate that blends into its surroundings; if that fails, they have a wall that lines the city with harpoons. Within the city are guard towers.

Industry & Trade

There is only one trade deal that is at an unknown location, somewhere deep under the ocean. They trade materials that can withstand lots of pressure, and stuff that would light up the city or higher-ups will also use it for paintings. They also trade meat that can only be retrieved from the deep sea.

Infrastructure

The city is the pride and joy of their civilization. They are using expensive materials to make their buildings like marble or high-quality stone. The government does give incentives for this, by putting in x amount of money to help improve the corner of life, as well as get discounts at local shops by the district leaders.

Assets

Some stores make artistic goods, architecture, and metallurgy. They store everything under the sun, as they have access to everything and take everything they can get their hands on. They don't have anything for fighting since it's hard to even get close to them due to the pressure of the water. The only people that have fighting equipment are the police and the military. There are lots of precious minerals, gems, and jewelry that get stored as valuables.

Guilds and Factions

They have merchants, artisans, and adventuring guilds. The merchants guild sell artisans goods, jewelry, refined gold, and paintings. The artisans guild makes jewelry and also does a lot of blacksmiths. The adventuring guild explores the ocean, learning what they can and bringing it back to the city.
