Rashwan
Rashwan culture is among the new cultures of the world, having formed as a result of the founding of the Rashwanan Caliphate. Rashwan culture was once a subsect of Darneshi culture, as the people of the Rash'ani Savannah have always had different temperaments. The Rashwan culture got it's legs with Imam Rashwan's founding of Singulism, a heresy of Dichotism. In some senses, they still share traits with Darneshi culture. Like the Darneshi, Rashwans are a practical people, whose culture promotes behavior that allows the community to survive. Unlike Darneshi, Rashwans are less prone to resorting to violence to achieve their survival, and their relationships are less transactional. When a Darneshi would turn to violence as a solution, a Rashwan will turn to words first. Rashwan communities are kind to each other, rather than competitive. There is a cultural belief that when hard times fall on one community, it is the duty of others to provide for them. This ensures that when your community suffers at a later time, they will receive the support they need from others.
This sense of "what goes around comes around" is the central pillar of Rashwan culture, and very much in line with their Singulist identity. This system is far from perfect, as a drought may affect all communities, and despite their lofty ideals they suffer their fare share of internal conflict. Although poised for peace, Rashwans are no strangers to war. There exists a deep cultural rift between them and their Darneshi brethren, aggravated by religious and national lines. No matter where in the world, if a Darneshi and a Rashwan stay in the same room for too long, it will come to blows eventually.
Rashwan culture is mostly centralized to the Rashwanan Caliphate, though the culture also occupies a province within the New Sovereignty. Rashwans primarily occupy arid lands, such as hot desert and savannah, and are most accustomed to warm, dry climates. Rashwans are primarily Human, with some minor Elf and Half-Elf populations, and even some Orc communities. The Rashwans are easily placed by their particularly dark skin tones, and their distinct accents. Rashwans have faced a lot of criticism and pressure, even violence, from Dichotist extremists. Despite this, they have maintained a peaceful poise, only resorting to violence as a means of defending themselves. When a Rashwan calls you a friend, you will struggle to find a more loyal one.
