Elf
Appearance
Elves are are humanoid race that presents as very similar to humans. Elven diversity is very high, with any myriad of skin tones, hair colors, eye colors, and body shapes. Elves are generally a few inches shorter than humans, typically with lither, leaner body shapes, and sharper facial features. Elves also tend to have lighter shades of hair color and eye color than humans. All elves have long, pointed ears, often one of their most easily identifying features.
Biology
Elves reproduce in typical mammalian fashion, though their gestation lasts 3 years. They mature slower than humans, typically reaching adulthood by the age of 100. Unlike humans, they live far longer, averaging 750 years, with some rare Elves living beyond 1,000 years. It is believed that Elves have a trace of innate magical power to them, a genetically inherited trait. This innate magic is not nearly as powerful as Sorcerous magic, yet it is noticeable. The Logicmasters believe this to be a strong racial affinity for the power of Abstract, as described in Oremars Theorem, and some of the most prodigious Logicmasters (especially in matters of Abstract) are indeed Elven.
History
Elves have one of the longest standing cultures and societies, as well as the most detailed and far reaching recorded history. Their Eldrithic Calendar is the standard calendar now adopted worldwide, and most events in ancient history are contextualized by utilizing Elven records and Elven dating. Elven history begins 3,000 years before the turn of the 1st Epoch, upon which a group of Elven scholars began to put forth effort towards recording and compiling Elven history and lore. Unfortunately, many of these records were either destroyed, or confiscated into secrecy by the Logicmasters during the Great Purge of the 3rd Epoch.
Those records that survived establish that Elven society had already formed under the banner of the Elven Kingdom prior to the 1st Epoch, surviving their Dragon oppressors by giving frequent and costly tribute. The most powerful Elves were so beautiful and enthralling that even some Dragons couldn't resist their allure, and thus Elves were believed to have among them the very first Sorcerers of the world. At the dawn of the 2nd Epoch, Elven society emerged as a super power, having the most powerful Sorcerers in the world, as well as the largest number of Dragonriders. They expanded their borders greatly during this time. The 3rd Epoch devastated the Elves, causing their society to stagnate, and steadily lose lands to other emergent powers throughout the 4th Epoch. In modern days, their largest populations exist within the Elven Princedom, and the Ellsia Province of the New Sovereignty. The globalization that has been ongoing throughout the 5th Epoch has caused Elves to find their homes worldwide more and more, beginning to crumble away at a xenophobic sentiment that has ever been present among the Elves, though they do remain largely xenophobic.
The lands of the Elven Princedom are among the least diverse, their population being Elven by a vast majority. Even Elven communities found elsewhere in the world tend to live in closely knit groups that rarely mingle outside of their racial bonds.
