Aravand

A goddess of the Dichotist religion, Aravand's domains encompass love, acceptance, and forgiveness. She is commonly believed to be represented in the Celestial sky as the Young Moon moon. She is viewed as lively and energetic, a symbol of change, and the transient cycle of life. She is commonly depicted in art as a beautiful, young elven woman, though there is a second common depiction of her as a crone. This is due to a common tale in which Aravand tests the kindness of strangers by taking the form of a decrepit crone, to see if they will help and accept her despite her appearance. In the tale she curses those who spurn her, and blesses those who help her. She is also commonly viewed to be the goddess of fertility, and many believe that conception is most likely to happen when the Young Moon is full, thinking that this is when her influence upon the world is most powerful.
