Pachilia, the Thunder Bird, used the skin of the aforementioned bird as a point of inspiration to lead the fight against Taulli in Shadow Cast. At the time, the berons were faultering around the lake coast which threatened theri homes in the Shadow Plain.
When she fused to her thunder skin, the bird's massive wing span became her arms through which she could take great leaps far ahead of the regular men into the enemy. It was proported that the sight of such bravery reinvigorated the beaten back warriors to soar after her.

One of the parents who oversaw her karass as a child told tales to a young Pachilia of the shadow warriors from the wargs' old homeland. She would think back to those days when she came across a giant thunder bird carcass floating in a rocky outsropping under the Leggi Overlook.

Karass

Parents of different families sort their children into groups of 5-7 into a cohort called a Karass, where those children forge bonds that last for the reminder of their lives. The children's parents work together to provide for their children's needs to limit environmental exposure and ensure a minimum chance of infection. However, should one child show sign of mutation, then it is a given that the whole cohort was exposed; after which the parents are excused and it is left to non-relatives to remove the entire karass.

Beast of Prey

The beast of prey is a rank in the army of the Triple Alignment only awarded to those who captured four enemies or had slain four of the most famous enemy opponents.

Pachilia Thunder is cited proudly as the original "Beast of Prey" by the Beron, Leggi and Nidae. The sang, however, appears to have forgotten where that phrase comes from: not even realizing the first beast of prey was a woman.

Taboos

The beron tribe is not receptive to women warriors. Either then or now.

The fact that she rose to such prominant heights only highlights the beron's desperate position at that point during the war of thunder.
