History

Originally constructed in 691 AoU as the city mansion of the influential Sharpe family, Pioneer Hall was donated to the Explorers Guild in 782 AoU, shortly after the Guild's founding, by Lord Layton Sharpe, head of the family at the time. Lord Sharpe's younger son, Franklin, one of the founding members of the guild, played an instrumental role in securing the property for the guild's use.    Over the following years, what was once an opulent noble residence underwent many modifications to make it more fit for the purposes of the rapidly growing guild. The grand ballroom was quickly converted into a meeting and feast hall. The second floor private study of Lord Sharpe became the guild's library and archive; eventually expanding into other second floor rooms over the centuries, as the guild acquired more texts. A first floor drawing room became the guild's map room, from which expeditions are planned.   Pioneer Hall has remained safely in the hands of the Explorers Guild since its original donation, and remains of good terms with the Sharpe family.
