Panbaia's Healing Gum

The Glade Elves had come to an impasse attempting to solve their recent dilemma. Humans were mass-producing potions of healing and giving their soldiers a stamina advantage over elven troops.
Though the elves had long known the secrets of alchemy to create such items, no self-respecting elf would ever approve producing in tactical quantities something so wasteful as a glass vial. Traditional leaf sacks had proven ineffective in both retaining the liquid and sustaining its healing properties for longer than three days.

But today, Craftmaster Iluvenna Panbaia would present a breakthrough solution that would assist the Glades' forces for centuries after her Dissociation.

Utility

The gum is administered orally after the subject has sustained an injury or has started suffering battle fatigue. After coming into contact with saliva, the Panbaia gum begins releasing minor amounts of healing magic to the person that reinvigorates the body and somewhat accelerates their natural regeneration factor.
Panbaia gum was developed to create an ecologically-responsible alternative to common potions of healing, often contained in glass vials. While this substance administers healing much more gradually compared to healing elixirs, the exhausted gum can then be consumed by the user.

Manufacturing

The manufacturing process of this minor magical item is a classified state secret of the Elven Glades.
Inventor(s)
Iluvenna Panbaia, a high elven Craftmaster of the Glades, invented the original unit of the gum.
Access & Availability
Panbaia gum is commonly distributed to front-line soldiers of the Elven Glades. Though seemingly simple to produce and sporadically sold to the Glades' allies, no nation has yet been able to recreate this healing item.
Discovery
The need for an eco-friendly alternative to healing potions prompted much research from the Craftmasters of the Elven Glades. After months of botched experiment and dead ends, elven leadership began resigning themselves to addressing the humans' tactical advantage in another manner.
Craftmaster Panbaia's moment of inspiration for developing the healing gum was revealed during her Dissociating Years. On an autumn morning, while devising new techniques for sewing leaf-sacks to contain healing liquid, she witnessed a wood elf herder chewing a wad of tobacco.
This breakthrough and culturally appropriate item was soon accepted by elven leadership and developing mass-production techniques began before year's end.
