Medirran Peoples

Banicka

A tribe of plains elves that live east of the Bone Hills.

Beadskins

The lizardfolk of the Odhan Waste and surrounding areas. Named for their thick, round, pebble-shaped scales, which are often strikingly patterned in orange, yellow, black, and various shades of brown and tan. A peaceful people, even if they strike most outsiders as odd.

Daadoon

A martial dwarven culture. Most Daadoon seen by outsiders are male mercenaries and inquisitors, most recently in the employ of the Jatsuo. Their own societies are very secretive. In contrast to most other metahuman peoples in Medirra, the Daadoon are light skinned, and tend to have blonde or red hair.

The Daadoon hail from an island off the north coast of Medirra, which was originally an Odhanbarese colony. The island was largely abandoned after a devastating plague called the White Death.

Fwentami

Tiny, dark-skinned halflings who live in sprawling warrens beneath baobab trees. Their tribal lands are north of the Odhan Waste and the Moghra. They have a reputation of being a standoffish and blunt, even rude, people.

Fwentunga

A tribe of halfling hunter-gatherers, closely related to the Fwentami. They live in nomadic bands in the dry grasslands that border the Odhan Waste.

Hill Dwarves

The dwarves of the Bone Hills. They have olive or grayish skin tones, and tend to have black hair. They have a reputation of being a stoic and humorless people. Descended both from native Medirran dwarves, who likely emigrated from the Karakor early in the Fourth Flowering, and Odhanbarese sea dwarves.

Jatsuo

A human tribe originally from Northeastern Medirra, on the shores of Prisoner's Bay. A dark skinned people who tend to be short and lightly built. Their society is arranged into huge extended clans. They worshiped a god called Tse Buo, an unforgiving god of greed and ambition. Jatsuo culture was based largely on ambition, influence, and material wealth; whether they chose to worship Tse Buo because he matched those ideals, or whether their culture shifted because of his influence, is hard to say.

The Jatsuo allied with the Daadoon after the dwarves fled their plague-stricken homeland. In the mid 31st century HR, both the Jatsuo and Daadoon began to migrate from Northeastern Medirra towards the environs of the Odhan Waste and Kangambe. They quickly attained cultural prominence there.

With the death of Tse Buo in July of 3116 HR, the future of the Jatsuo tribe is uncertain.

Jjaddamen

People native to the Great Lakes surrounding Jjaddakk. A slender people with black skin and often unusually-colored eyes. Believed to have many elves and half-elves in their ancestry.

Kangoro

Principal human tribe of Kangambe. Their skin is very dark and sometimes takes on a violet cast in the shade. Commonly wear ivory studs in their lips or throats, and weave bright fabrics into their dense hair.

Krith Kuhm

Robust humans from the Krith mountains to the north and west of Kangambe. Tend to have olive or brown skin tones, and often adorn themselves with colorful war paint.

Moanti

A merfolk tribe from the islands in the extreme south of Medirra.

Sea Dwarves

Includes both the descendants of Odhanbarese dwarves in inland Medirra, and Barazinbarese and Azamarese colonies and expatriates along the southern and eastern coasts.

Shoalane

Often called the Dusk Elves. A race of statuesque black or gray-skinned elves native to the west coast of Medirra. Often have blue, purple, or yellow eyes.

Tam

The dominant human tribe of Tamrat and the Jewel Cities. Partly descended from dragons, so sorcerers and even dragonborn are fairly common.

Watu

A confederacy of related tribes in southern Medirra. Broadly divided into the Tomb Watu, who live in the hills and grasslands to the northern part of their range, and the Wood Watu, who live in the dry broadleaf forests and rainforests on the south coast of Medirra.
