The Furhan Mountain range is the right-hand portion of the Northern Mountains, starting near Shivano City, Necros, and extending northward.

You might think mining would be the most dangerous profession in the Furhan Mountains. No. Hunting and prospecting are by far more deadly in these mountains.

Fauna & Flora

Despite the rough terrain and frigid conditions, some creatures have managed to make a home of the Furhan Mountains and the Northern Mountains. Two of the most notable creatures are the Alpine Cat and the Furhan Goat.

The Alpine Cat, also known as the Snow Demon, is a formidable, solitary predator. While they avoid human settlements, they are extremely territorial, and unfortunate hunters and adveturers have been killed venturing too far from Lapirus or the mining outposts.
However, one alpine cat, Lily is infamous for hunting 6 people in the capital city of Rhovan, keeping fear of the beasts alive.

Hunted by both humans and alpine cats, Furhan Goats are large ungulates well-adapted to the rocky terrain and frigid conditions of the Furhan Mountain range. They are unique to the Northern Mountains.
Lapirusians rely on the goats for meat, wool, and skins, and utilize their horns primarily for beads, trinkets, and other small, decorative items.

Natural Resources

The Furhan Mountains are rich in natural resources, from stone to gemstones, to metals and precious metals. As such, several mines and quarries can be found in the mountains. Two of the most notable materials are lifestones and bloodstones.

Lifestones are black and green stones. When used during the Lifestone Ritual, they can store the life and magic energies of another creature to later be used by a necromancer or witch. Lifestones are fairly rare and sale of them is highly regulated.

Bloodstones are aggregate minerals, typically green with flecks of red. These also store magic energy which can be later used in spellwork, but have a lower capacity. The sale and use of bloodstones is less restricted than that of lifestones.

Settlements

Shivano City, the capital city of Necros is located at the southern-most part of the Furhan Mountains. The Underground Necropolis of Necros is believed to run deep into the mountains, though no one knows how far the necropolis extends.
Further up in the mountains is the mining town of Lapirus, which is responsible for supplying Necros with a wide array of mining goods - metals, precious metals, gemstones, lifestones, and bloodstones.
