Bloodstones

Bloodstones have the ability to hold the blend of magic and energy unique to blood, specifically to the blood of humans and witches.
It takes a particular spell and ritual to transfer the energy into the bloodstones, but after that, they will hold that energy until it is ready to be utilized by a witch in a spell or to power a small magic device. With enough blood and an experienced magic-user, large batches of the stones can be powered at a time.
Bloodstones are not valued as highly as Necros's lifestones, but can be ethically produced with the blood of willing donors. More often, however, the blood is obtained from those sacrificed in the Lifestone Ritual, though Necrosi priests argue that to be a perfectly ethical practice.

Most bloodstones of Imbria are located within the Northern Mountains in Rhovan and Necros.
Most of the active mines are in the Furhan Mountains of Necros near the lifestone mines.

Bloodstones are mined and energized in Necros. They are primarily sold for use in small, magical devices where the bloodstones can be purchased separately and replaced when depleted. The primary clientelle for these are nomas to power magical devices they themselves cannot power.

Law & Regulation

Bloodstones are sold throughout Necros and Rhovan, but are discouraged in Salaris and forbidden in Torverath, as those two rely on sunstones for minor energy storage and transferrence.
