Find Sally's cat

The characters are approached by a little girl who is missing her cat. In searching for it they find ruins hidden in the woods. Inside they find not only the cat who turns out to be a displacer beast kitten but, also a mysterious orb that freezes anyone who touches it. While leaving Tinker finds a well filled with skeletal remains and scares off a group of adventurers who are entering the ruins before leaving and heading back to town. In town they speak to the Greenfoot Brigade gaurdian Boral Thistlefoot who gives them the mission of mapping out a path to the Iron Hills. They also speak to Maggie who tells them to go to the ministry of magical studies in Lockport as they are looking for such items and are willing to pay for them.
