The Kingdom of Kaldrheim

Government: Hereditary Monarchy
Royal Titles (in order of rank): King/Queen, Prince/Princess, Duke/Duchess, Baron/Baroness, Knight
Ruling Family: The Ryggholts. This family is a part of the merging of the human and elven cultures that are native to the region. This mixed race calls themselves the Elskede. The human culture calls themselves and their common language Mannesker.

Princess: Ashildr Ryggholt (elskede)
Each of the 13 duchies that Kaldrheim is divided into is ruled by a noble family of elves, humans, elskede, bugbears, or frost giants.
(1) Capitol City & Duchy: Mithrold City, Mithrold Ruled by the elskede Rygghold family. This duchy is traditionally ruled by the heir to the throne, once they come of age. The current ruler is Duke Asgier Ryggholt. Ryggholt Coat of Arms: A red, rampant wolf on a white field, standing under 12 silver stars. Guardian Forces: The Ulvensbitt
(2) Kliaq Bugbear territory, ruled by the bugbear Duchess Tasha Korzheva. This duchy's leaders are selected by a council of elders.
(3) Sumarvollr This duchy is mainly human and ruled by Duke Isulf Askeland and Duchess Svala Falstad Askeland. The title is hereditary. Queen Gudbjorg is their daughter.
(4) Vittaheim This duchy is mainly human and is ruled by Duke Haaki Falstad and Duchess Arnora (Odegaard) Falstad.
(5) Aegirgard This duchy is mainly elskede and is ruled by Duke Olvir Sandvig and Duchess Halberta (Sagen) Sandvig.
(6) Raethlyan This duchy is mainly elven and is ruled by Duke Elred Kelfiel. Leaders are elected by the populace and a parliament of regional representatives.
(7) Ugarn This duchy is mainly frost giants and is ruled by King Xonas Zafar and Queen Zirga Zafar, who also carry the Kaldrheim titles of Duke and Duchess. These titles are hereditary.
(8) Isenthyr – elf – Duke Itham Luric, Duchess Sylmari Caramir
(9) Emetasi – elf – Duke Avourel Sylro, Duchess Kylantha Yeven
(10) Fjaraverheim elskede – Duke Gudrik Sagen, Duchess Asta Sagen
(11) Hofnfold This duchy is mainly human and is ruled by Duke Kolbjorn Odegaard and Duchess Gudfrid Torvik Odegaard. Duchess Arnora Falstad of Vittaheim is their daughter.
(12) Silen Thalas – elf – Duke Theodomon Loraqen, Duchess Meralya Aranan
(13) Grimmrheim This duchy is mainly elskede and is ruled by Duke Orrn Bredesen and Duchess Skuld (Ryggholt) Bredesen. The title is hereditary. King Magnar Ryggholt is Skuld's brother.
In Mithrold City, the central island is actually a boat made of Kalihiri wood that ran aground and rooted itself into the riverbed. It is the center of the entertainment district of the city (taverns, gambling, theater, brothels, etc.) The island is called “Rood Pinne” (red stick). The bridge that connects the island to the mainland on either side is called the “Arcane Avenue”.
There is a local brewery called Storm Gale’s Ale, and their lead bartender is a human woman named Jordis. There is a restaurant called The Dwarven Sausage Well. The large courtyard on the west bank is called “The Five Points”. The party has named their band “Arrow Smith”. Their favorite distillery is called “Whisky N’ Things”.
The Head Cleric of the Church of the Goddess Thyri is a man named Oddlog (Ohd-loog). Thyri’s holy symbol is St. Brighid’s cross. She is the goddess of commerce, agriculture, fishing.

Fauna & Flora

The humanoid races native to Kaldrheim are humans, high elves, frost giants, and bugbears.
Bronze dragons live along the coastlines. Silver dragons live in mountainous areas and secluded ruins.
