Utumn: Age of Pharanox

Created by

For the past 900 years the empire has brought stability to the savage world of Utumn. A dragon, by the name of Pharanox, leads this empire. It's citizens are Human , Jotunn, their hybrid offspring called Hebnal and Dragons. The empire doesn't have civilized enemies, only the great brutal beasts and 'wild' dragons are the main cause for concern. That's not to say there hasn't been any infighting over the centuries, cults have repeatedly emerged seemingly out of nowhere to disrupt law and order.   Despite all these threads the empire has endured, civilization thrives. The lands have been divided into kingdoms. The farmlands have thick stone walls protecting them from the apex predators known as tyrants. These are simple animals that avoid danger if they see it, dragons on the other hand are smart.   During the rise of the empire, Pharanox constructed the imperial academy where he could start the training of the finest warriors and wayfrayers Utumn has ever seen. These individuals are known as outlanders and live to protect both the people and nature. A balance has been kept and respected for centuries.   A lot of the common folk still use flint tools. This lack of technology is offset by the availability of Phaelimni. People who are capable of manipulating elements from afar with the movement of their bodies and the will of their minds. There are many scholars and philosophers, usually aristocrats, that study the natural world for the betterment of civilization.   The known world of Utumn goes from the western coast to the currently expanding eastern border and from the recently colonized northern lands to the impassible southern border. This natural border to the south consists of a sea that sees more storms throughout the year then clear days. From the west side of the sea lies a canyon that continues all the way to the ocean to the far west, it's so big you can't see the across it and on the other side of the sea are treacherous mountains. Emperor Pharanox has proclaimed this border forbidden.   The people are strong and sturdy, their ancestors barely survived Utumn were it not for Pharanox's guidance. He is now more then a dragon, he is seen by the people as a god in mortal form.   Welcome to Utumn, a land of hazards and wonders.
