Grandpope Leonardo I

Pope of the Catholic Church, Grandpope of Christianity Carlo Merino

The Grandpope Leonardo the first was the first pope to successfully reunite all separate christian churches under a single common organization. Officially carrying the title of Pope of the Grand United Christian Church, he aimed for a liberalization and unification of all of Christianity, hoping for a better understanding of the holy scripts, as well as to create a more simplified belief and tax systems.

Pope

After successfully escalating through the eclestical chain of command and being chosen as the pope of the Catholic church, the pope seeked immediate communication and collaboration with all other christian churches, eventually receiving help from numerous monarchs to achieve his plan of unifying the church.   After numerous talks and negotiations, the whole idea would finally be settled by the signing of the Rome Declaration by all these leaders.

Grandpope

Together with all other leaders of all christian religions, some things changed, the most important being:
  • Religious ranks and titles would be made common, pope being the highest in the chain.
  • Every religion within Christianity would become "variants" of Christianity.
  • There would be a unified head of Christianity as a whole, called Grandpope, who would be chosen from the popes of all other variants in a closed vote, having no other power than to look after the unification of the church. Leonardo I would later be chosen as the Grandpope until his death in 1668.
  • The unification of Christianity would lead to a liberalization process within the church, with different views regarding divorce and the sacraments soon arising, leading towards a more unified, free, liberal and uniform Christian church.
