Tallifir Faithful Organization in Uto Daeg | World Anvil

Tallifir Faithful

The rulers of Tallifir's Arm. A theocracy of the demigod hero Tallifir, whom they say conquered trial after trial and lived to be thousands of years old. He sacrificed himself to save the world, the arm of him being the eponymous arm of the country. These beliefs are taught ardently in schools and replaced the previously large religion of Pelor and Moradin in the country. There is no outlawing of these other religions. However, if any religion is practiced, it is Tallifir worship. As they say, "In Tallifir's Arm you can be monotheist or polytheist, as long as Tallifir is first."   Despite their strange religious customs, the country itself rules generously over its people. They provide various programs and magically assisted benefits of food and water, healing, and longevity. "None are hungry" the Faithful often claim. Postage is regulated and links to all its neighboring countries and those across the gulf and sea. These are run by the Faithful and are always used as vehicles of evangelizing.   Countries see the Tallifir Faithful as strange but innocuous. Indeed. they have no started or participated in war since their inception many decades ago. When the Tallib pushed into its northern territories to unconvert them, the Faithful diplomatically evaded direct conflict and acquired a treaty of peace, even converting some to their religion.

Separated from Three

The peoples of Tallif's Arm have rejected the superstitious "Rule of Three" the Tallib obstinately follow. They believe the Tallib to be misguided by their old beliefs. They think their devoutness misplaced in superstition instead of the belief in Tallifir. Despite their religious differences, the are not enemies. Once, a group of Tallib came to unconvert them, but they were unsuccessful. They trade often with them, though they keep conversations brief. They do share the Tallib's desire to unite with the Damned Lands to the north, but have never sent an military assistance to the Tallib to help conquer it and drive the demons out.

Demography and Population

Humans of the Paluch ethnicity are the most common. They comprise about 60% of the population. They can be found all throughout Tallifir's Arm.   Elves and dwarves are the next most common at 20% and 8% respectively. The elves inhabit the forested south while the dwarves inhabit the little hills to the north.   Half-orcs and half-elves make up 7% of the population. The elves exist in the cities and the half-orcs tend to the open prairies in the north.   Gnomes and halflings and tieflings make up the rest. Gnomes inhabit outskirts of cities in little clans, while halflings prefer the hilly central. Tieflings prefer the cities.

Mythology & Lore

The reverence of Tallifir above all others is the foundation of their religion. It is he who saved them and in essence birthed them to their plentiful homes. It was he who fought back the dragons of the air and land and sea, who crushed the plague-ridden vermin, and who fertilized the soil and rivers with minerals and fish. He has done wondrous deeds worthy of praise and he truly is the deity above all other deities.

On His arm we are raised.
