Mage Quill

Manufactured from mages in almost any major college, the mage quill offers a unique take on the well-known issue of writing tirelessly hours upon end for scholars. This nifty little pen can write as the wielder dictates. The item requires attunement and when activated does take concentration to write. This is generally seen as a non-issue considering the user will be stopping every now and again to reread notes or change the pages, or anything else. Once activated, the quill is active for 1 hour or until concentration is broken.
The pen uses the combined effects of mage hand and the endless jug to produce a writing instrument to free up hands for scanning or other writings even. Wizard prefer it for journaling or keeping log.
It should be noted that the quill cannot be used to write down spells into a spellbook. Spells require more nuance than the quill offers.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The quill has a switch on the side that activates a spell not dissimilar to mage hand. The spell, called Quilla's Hand, lasts for 1 hour or until the switch is replaced.

Manufacturing process

Wizards needs at least a week or two to craft a flawless version of this item. They begin by fashioning the quill and casting mage hand on one of the thin quartz crystals and stuffing it in. Next, they cast the same spell that infuses a jug of endlessness on the second quartz, using up the ink. They work the nib on and click the metal switch on the side. After testing, it is available for selling.
