High Court of Hlee

A conglomeration of nobles from the country. These nobles influence cities and large towns, and sometimes get their hands into the politics of smaller towns. The throne will hear from a select few as its advisors, though they are not on the Council of Evoria. Although they can be corrupt, there are those with character who routinely use divination to ensure the morals of their fellows. Members are called Courticians and addressed as "Courter."

High Court Chambers

Outside

The court sits on a manmade bluff on the southern edge of Lort'yid, the district of the throne. The grounds of the complex also house chambers for the attendants, courtiers, and other staff. Several beautifully trimmed trees skip along the road to the main gates. A few fountains bubble into small channels that flow down and around Lort'yid. The roads are not very busy, though during normal hours there is always at least a few parties traveling and talking. Foreign granite statues of the High Court's founder, Yveno Sealy, and its builder, Roseen Cottmey, guard the entrances.

Inside

Pillared arches support the circular building. Galleries line the second story for viewing. Keepëré oversee the entire complex, standing at attention with bannered spears. Inside the complex is an atrium with small trees and lush bushes. Past this are the doors to the main chamber. The chamber is also circular with a middle table on a dais and many other tables forming rows of rings. A little platform on the end of the central table acts as standing ground for those of the chamber to speak their mind. The central table and chairs are for the throne, though the king and queen are not always present. Another seat is adjacent to these for the Chamber Leader to discuss and call to order, currently held by Jensen Wickett.

HIgh Court Structure

The Lord-Dukes and Lady-Duchessses of the upper echelons of the High Court are closest to the throne's advisors, but not full Council members. The Council sets to deliver choices of the people, give another point of view on matters, fulfill requests of the throne, and ensure the people are being treated correctly by laws and decrees the throne passes down. The Evorian nobility tiers are the power structure within the High Court.

The throne, we advise; the people, we serve.
