Ability to kill without maiming.

Career Progression

• Deadhead — one who simply follows whatever mundane orders are given them. Usually graverobbers.
• Lookout/Carrier — On lookout during killings and robbings. Gives some orders.
• Killer — One who does actual killing. Sizes up targets. Orders Deadheads and sometimes Lookouts.
• Assassin — Highest killers. Precision in killing and retrieving of bodies. Can stealthly carry any body. Knows spells like riposte and others.
• Leader — Leader of local faction. Receives order and doles them out accordingly.
• Senator — Leader of continents. Receives orders from mages, and necromancers.
• Ligate — Headmaster of entire order. Only one stationed. Moves continents every so often to avoid discovery.

Payment & Reimbursement

Pay is accumulated based on several criteria: handling of job, precision of job, satisfaction of patron, extra goods acquired, rank.

Other Benefits

This organization provides a stipend every year. It also guarantees lodging and food in whatever city they are stationed. Guarantees protection from being targeted by this service.

Perception

Purpose

The purpose is to acquire bodies. Used primarily in rituals or magical experiments, or just deprivation. All bodies are free from dismemberment and in mint condition. This guild offers quick, efficient products with no paper trails or criminal implications to the purchaser since all names are aliases.

Social Status

Society as a whole has no idea this organization exists. Only the evil or desperate contact them, so not much is known outside of those circles.

Operations

Tools

A burlap sack and garrote are standard tools immediately given upon entry. One set for life. If a member loses or misplaces theirs, they must purchase another.

Dangers & Hazards

Aside from retaliation from the living targets, guards and policing forces provide the most dangerous obstacles to completing a job. The Headhunters doesn't provide bail or any sort of criminal compensation; if a member gets caught they are suspended until they escape, are freed, or die.

Only the desperate or malevolently ambitious turn to the Headhunters for services. Finding them in the first place is tough and payment is high, so it isn't commonly used, but always has customers.
