White Snow Ward

While it does not appear on most maps, up in the mountains is a walled retreat. The retreat is for students of Avalean to study her teachings.  Avalean is the goddess of choices, consequences, & compromise.  Her devotees can study their own consequences, to understand the part they played in how they reached this point in their life. There are a number of Scienna's faithful living her amongst the icy wilderness. Scienna's students often overlap with Avalean's teaching when they are focused on the competition between nature and the civilizations of people. They usually lean towards the preservation of nature and the restriction of society's advance.
Here amongst the faithful of Avalean & Scienna resides the White Gnoll, Docktura. Freed from the eternal hunger of Yeenoghu, this white furred gnoll is reviled by all gnolls. The process he underwent is incredibly painful. It requires voluntarily keeping still while an operation is done to remove a small organ from the back of the skull. Gnolls cannot keep still, it drives them mad.  A gnoll in a cage will literally bash themselves to death against the bars of a cage. A gnoll must reach a point of control in order to undergo the operation.  The organ is called "Yeenoghu's Tongue", it drives the gnolls to frenzies, inciting violence, and driving them insane. Without it, the whispers of Yeenoghu that torment all gnolls ceases. Once removed, patterns and colors of the fur change. Docktura's fur is snow white, with silvery gray stripes across the back and chest.
Docktura remains hidden here in the mountains as gnolls obsess with hunting down ones like him.  If gnolls learned he was here, they would not stop until he was dead. Docktura has helped other gnolls be freed.  He lives as a mystic studying tranquility and self-control.
