Wow, there are a lot of attendants here... —
Isak, visiting a Sunday service.
Around
39% of the population of
Urskoga are Lutheran Christians. This is the largest group of people in
town. The group's demographic is very diverse, not only on the age, gender, sexuality, and race spectrum but also on the supernatural and non-supernatural person spectrum.
Like all other groups, this one is not a
hive mind. They have different opinions on how their religion works and that is why they don't all belong to the same church. The majority of Christians are members of The
Urskoga Christian Church, at
61%, while
33% are members of free churches and
6% are unaffiliated.
This does not mean that they don't have a lot in common. Here is a small selection of things that the
majority of Christians in Urskoga believe.
God has created everything.
Flower patterns are great.
Everyone has equal value.
Sunday service is important.
Funeral rites
Around 80% of the deceased are cremated in Sweden. It's the same in Urskoga.
Non-Christians have a civil funeral and are cremated and spread in the local memorial grove. The Christians in Urskoga either bury the deceased or cremate them and then bury them in the local graveyard. Their loved ones can rent their grave plot for 25 years when it will be rented out to someone else. The deceased will then be buried further down below the new renter or will be moved.
Voting
The local company that runs the bus service in Urskoga are Christians and it was their idea to baptize their busses. The vicar did not want to agree to it at first but he eventually did and now when a new bus is purchased the bus baptizing is a large event. The inhabitants and other people who travel with the busses are encouraged to vote on the name of the new bus and to visit the baptizing event.
Expanse
Everybody who lives in Urskoga proper, whether they know it or not, lives on top of
The Undergrounds. The Christians, and especially those of the UCC, visit the grand entrance to the Undergrounds every Sunday. The Undergrounds not only bring wealth to the town, but it also keeps the world safe from the ancient being resting in its depths.
