The Lunar Uprising
Have you ever wondered how we all ended up gaining our independence from Terra and the nations that formed our nations all those years ago? How we finally gained the rights to govern ourselves? Why the Astronomical colonisation and terraforming committee even exists? Well, all of that is down to these brave Lunans. We have them to thank for the way The Sol System is goverened today. The Lunar Uprising was an uprising that occured from 2026-2029. It resulted in the creation of the Astronomical colonisation and terraforming committee, to ensure that the colonies throughout the solar system are being looked after by their corresponding Terran nations, and that they recieve independence after ten years of their location becoming fully terraformed.
The Conflict
Prelude
In 2026, the Lunar colonies were shocked to learn that the majority of the Terran nations that set up their colonies had no plans to allow them to gain independence. This led to an outrage on the lunar colonies, who wanted to be recognised as independent nations.
Battlefield
The majority of the fighting occured in space between Earth and it's moon. Further fighting occured on the lunar surface.
Fighting also took place on the internet. One group claimed to have calculated how to through the earth out of orbit and showed a 'simulation' of an explosiion which would result in the moon travelling off into interstellar space. The simulation turned out to be a clip of the first episode of the old sci-fi series Space 1999
Outcome
The Lunar colonies won the uprising, and were allowed to gain their independence.
Aftermath
The Lunar nations are independant to this day. The Astronomical colonisation and terraforming committee was set up, so as to protect the rights of colonies on other planetary bodies.
