Strange Fortress Ruins
Southeast of the Dwarven Kingdom lies the Dwarven Cleft Island. This is home to the dwarven city of Cleft City, as well as the Isle of Ancestors, which contains the tombs of Kesker.
This island is dominated by two large mountains, Mount Kesker and Mount Kyt. There are also several splinter islands around the main island.
One of these splinter islands are the so-called "Drifted Islands", which are located north-east of the main island, and consist of one large island and many small splitters. What makes them so special, however, are the ruins that can be found there.
Neither War'fss nor the bandits know who these remains are from.
Mostly they are just stone walls or half watchtowers, similar to city ruins.
The architecture is also not related to any of the races in the unterwelt. The stone walls are made of deep stone (which is normally found only at depths of more than a mile) and are supported by iron fittings. The archways do not slope towards each other, but slope away from each other, only to curve and meet as a point.
The still existing stone paths are not only set straight, but also partly embedded with precious stones, so that when the light falls on them, they glitter and sparkle.
Between the stone walls, stone paths and watchtowers are rectangular buildings that are equipped with a kind of door on one side. The outer walls of these buildings are as smooth as a marble slab, only occasionally interrupted by inscriptions that no one can or wants to read. Each of these unknown buildings is surrounded by eight stone columns.
These columns are also decorated with writings and symbols.
On some of these objects thin metal pipes can be found. Not as ornate as those of the dwarves, but recognizable as such. What they carry is not known.
Many dwarves have traveled to this place to do research. But the result of this research is not very enlightening, and raises more questions than it answers.
Excerpt from a research diary:
".... No matter how you turn it, the engraved letters are indecipherable. They resemble ours, but it is much coarser in overall appearance, and there is not a single one that resembles the dwarven alphabet. Yardan Dogarn also told me that there is not much progress in our work. We've been here for two weeks, and we've learned little or nothing new....."
However, after a few years, some light was shed on the matter. The Kuren, who never once commented on it, knew what it was. But neither dwarf nor human could squeeze something out of them.
However, the Kuren prince sjack ksiuom in the year 703 of the 10th era a.t.z. era said the following sentence:
".... You greedy dwarves and humans, be glad that you don't know what this is, and you should be even more thankful that those who are responsible for these constructions no longer exist, may the graves remain sealed forever......".
ever, did not end the curiosity about it, rather it fired even more those who wanted to know what it was. After all, it was now known that there were graves, and these are sealed.
However, to this day, the 20th era 20456 years a.t.z. era, no one has managed to break this seal and reveal the secret.
