The Two Moons Festival

This takes place every year on the week of the fall equinox. The festival leads up to the equinox on the twenty-first day of Altua. It is a celebration of freedom and magic in remembrance of Xayana and Leonith. Magic uses from the entire country of Ashye and The Urazdamese Empire flock to the ancient city of Fotasia to partake in the celebrations. The Church of the Radiant Light is one of the largest organizations to partake in the festival. It is now a way for magic users to be able to collect together and share knowledge.

History

The first year of the festival is not known, but many believe that it was during the Pre-Dawn Era. It originally began as a spiritual ritual of freedom and renewal. Over the centuries, the original purpose of the festival has been overrun by groups seeking profits and the magic users that share their inventions. It is now considered a world fair and many creators collect here every year to sell their wares.

Execution

As the week progresses each day holds different significance. The first 4 days are known as the Days. These are days of renewal for the Faenshanta. Magic users expend all their magical energy into crystals throughout Fotasia. By the fifth day(known as  Day), the stones themselves vibrate with the excess magic. day is a day of fasting from both food and magic, the only exception is from magic users creating water to partake. Drinking from the town wells is forbidden until Two Moons Day. The Sixth Day is known as  Day, this is the day leading into the Equinox and is a day of feasting. Water is fully allowed during this day.  day is known for colored powder being thrown throughout the streets. This feasting and celebration continues throughout the night. The final day, Two Moons Day, is a day of rest, but no other tenants are held.
