Victrix Meadow

The Victrix Meadow is a lush meadow located about 97 kilometers south of Ilyrium in Britannia. It is a protected piece of land (from humans and from witches) in a similar way to how the United States's national park system works. The punishment for disturbing any flora or fauna is a heavy fine.   The Victrix Meadow is especially loved by followers of the Old Religion; where nature flourishes, Old Religion followers follow.   The meadow became protected in 620 CE; the weather is controlled by magic so its unique flora can flourish, both for horticultural purposes and also because the meadow is a large tourist attraction.

Fauna & Flora

The flora of Victrix Meadows is what makes it so unique. Along with many species of flowers known to humans, there are many rare plants exclusive to witches as well. Included are:

  • Rosalia Rose: A white, pink, and red rose used during the celebration of the Rosalia Festival.
  • Madame's Lily: A purple and white lily.
  • Ropes of Roses: SImilar to ivy, a leafy plant that invades (but does not kill). The roses are lavender and plum-colored.
  • Necromancer's Red: A type of camelia that will instantly kill anyone who ingests any part of the plant; it is innocuous when touched.
  • Roth's Orchid: An orchid with striped petals.
  • Swans' Feathers: A type of pure white lotus flower.

In addition, the meadow has a great variety of fruit trees. Included are:

  • Melissa's Pear: A sweet/sour pear.
  • Stargazer's Fruit: A starfish-shaped, salty fruit.
  • Orion's Belt: A type of sweet fruit made into fruit candy strips.
  • Grecian grapes: A sweet white grape.
