Vile Locust Thorn Dagger

The gift of the tower to Aja, harnessing one's inner hexing power and magnifying it.   The thorn itself functions as a +2 dagger. However, due to its organic construction, it completely ignores armor and shield bonuses from magic. (E.g. chain Mail +3 does not get it's +3 bonus, it is only regular chain mail as far as the dagger is concerned.)   Its true potency is seen when used against another spellcaster (able to cast 1st level spells). When hit, if the opponent can cast any spells, they suffer additional damage in the amount of 1d6 points of damage the first round. Each round thereafter, the damage increases by d6, to 2d6 on the second round, 3d6 on the third round, and so on as the dagger uses the magic of the opponent against them. For each die of damage done, the opponent randomly loses 1 spell slot for the day (if a spell is associated with that slot, that spell is lost.) The damage only stops if two consecutive saves are made (DC Fort 24) or the caster is depleted of all spells for the day. On the first successful save, the damage is still taken and a spell is lost.   Of interest is the construction of the thorn. Aja has seen this wood before, but only on the world they now believe resides within Graykar's backpack. At the time when Aja had first encountered the wood, she had sensed minor magic about the tree and had even had Graykar store a sample thorn and some dried leaves for her to study later. It will take some study, but it may be that the properties of the dagger may be inherent to its species.

Beenefits Solely for Aja

When she has the thorn about her person, it magnifies some of her hexing abilities.   Any time she places a hex on a creature she can attach its life force to her own. Any time you take damage, the target of your hex will also receive 50% of that damage. If you are healed while still linked, they will receive healing in the amount of 50%. This stays in effect until she either
1) Dismisses the link and the hex, now an allowable option or
2) Places a different hex on a different creature and has exceeded her total number of allowable links. She can only have a number of links equal to your Charisma bonus (minimum of 1). Due to the nature of this link, as long as the hex remains, the link remains. If the hex or link breaks, so does the other.   Additionally, as long as a linked creature is on the same plane as her, she will always know what direction they are in relation to her, though a simple nondetection spell will baffle this direction sense.
