The Elemental Conglomerate

Approximate 344 AC, several elemental spirits started appearing on Camoray. These powerful spirits were displaced from a previous world during Coalescence. Many suspect they came from Nakir and were gods there, however, there is little supporting evidence for this theory. In fact, they would borrow the idea of godhood from the Gods of Peace. Another question is why they were so quarrelsome within their own group. Some believe that it may be that Coalescence caused them to go insane.   When they appeared, they were violent and vengeful, often lashing out at anything or anyone who crossed them. Some learned a little patience. Their favorite tasks seemed to be fighting with each other. Their capricious nature caused havoc for any mortal nearby.   This caused the Gods of Peace to step in. Still week in power, the Gods of Peace were tasked to their limits keeping the elemental spirits at bay from just their main cities. If the spirits had banded together earlier on, they would have easily overpowered the Gods of Peace.   As years went by, the Gods of Peace's power started returning and by about 385 AC, the Gods of Peace were now more than a match for the elemental spirits individually.   Finally wising up, the elemental spirits formed a collective for protection. Once again, this collective was a match for the gods of peace, however, their infighting among themselves continued enough to keep them from one true purpose. During this time, the elementals also started gaining followers on Zylonica and a few locations in Mashapaloopa.   Whether they took to calling themselves the Elemental Conglomerate or it was an assigned name is unknown.   By 400 AC, they are gathering worshippers and when that happens, they find they gained some of the faith based power similar to the Gods of Peace. It isn't as refined so they can't utilize it as effectively, but it is there. Another aspect of this channeled faith appears to be the members of the Elemental Conglomerate appear to be immune to the influence of having followers, in that a largely good city doesn't start turning the elemental good. The following list shows their numbers and organization at the height of their power from about 400 AC to 468 AC when the Gods of Peace took away one of the main advantages that the elementals had.   Before 468 when an elemental was slain, it reformed within a few weeks to a few months.   In 468 AC, the Gods of Peace were able to bind the elemental lords to Camoray in such a way, that when they died, they died permanently. Many died during the first years after this before they figured out that death was permanent. Those that died in the century afterward are marked with an Asterisk.   In 589 the most powerful of the elemental lords, Raxemores is slain and unleashes his terrible death curse on the Isle of Terseriac, permanently encasing the land in an eternal polar wind.   By about 600 AC, most of the elemental lords left have stabilized and toned down their aggressive tendencies. Many have now branched out and sought new followers, like Baron Crasticer becoming the god of the gnomes in 595 AC   In 660 AC, Raxemores returns, different, yet more powerful. This gives hope to some of the elemental lords that maybe death isn't permanent after all. He moves in and quickly takes control as the preeminent deity of the Zyloans, killing a few more of the minor elemental lords in the process. Unlike before, when he kills an elemental lord he is able to take over their following. He is also the only elemental lord able to grant full divine powers to his followers similar to what the Gods of Peace grant to their followers.   Raxemores is also responsible for orchestrating the Day the Gods Died (see current history, 718 AC).   The fallout of this day resulted in most of the remaining Elemental Conglomerate being slain. The only ones to survive were Crimson Madder, Harmattan the Spear, Jorg the Dark Cloud, Eyok the Gentle, and Giter Strong Fist. All five of them fled to Mashapaloopa.   The downfall of the Elemental Conglomerate was largely the responsibility of the returned Gods of War. The Results of this day and how it benefited the Gods of War is as follows.   Raxemores is now the unquestioned god of the Zyloans. By now, it is revealed that Raxemores had never returned, it was Shaze who had taken his identity. Though to those of the Zyloan faith, this is heresy. He is the one and only Raxemores. King of Gods.
Wegsetze had already killed and taken Celestriar The Bright's personae and was posing as Raxemores' Queen and Consort.
Kog had already slain and taken the identity of Draknell the Doom and joined the Zylonica pantheon as the warrior god.
Darkello takes the identity of Radioshar the Night Lord as he is killed on the Day the Gods Died. He joins the pantheon as the god of death.
Salar takes the identity of Mulathap the Obscure similarly, becoming the god of mysteries on Zylonica.

  And finally, Rikorskey had already taken Malice the Mithral Razor's personae about a century earlier after killing her. Rather than joining the rest of the Gods of War, he relocated to Mashapaloopa after the Day the Gods Died to forge his own empire.

  • The replaced elementals can grant up to 8th level spells. (Wegsetze as Celestriar the Bright, Kog as Draknell the Doom, Darkello as Radioshar the Night Lord, Salar as Mulathap the Obscure, and Rikorskey as Malice the Mithral Razor). Shaze/Raxemores is the only elemental deity capable of currently granting 9th level magics.
  • The supreme elementals can only grant up to 7th level spells. Any class devoted to following an elemental will not be able to advance any divine powers beyond the 14th level of ability, though other features remain the same.
  • The major elementals can only grant up to 5th level spells. Any class devoted to following an elemental will not be able to advance any divine powers beyond the 10th level of ability, though other features remain the same.
  • The minor elementals can only grant up to 4th level spells. Any class devoted to following an elemental will not be able to advance any divine powers beyond the 8th level of ability, though other features remain the same.
