He initially carried the artifact Sanguine Flourish before it moved on to a distant cousin of his. Its magic didn't quite align with Tars's spirit.
Upon surrendering the artifact, he picked a new artifact, Fate's Careen. It is a single set of small bone dice, one six sided and one 8 sided. Each face of the dice shows a unique inscribed glyph inlaid with what looks like liquid silver. The effect of Fate's Careen is a combination of elemental and probability control. Very useful for someone planning on heading to sea.
