Description
This spell conforms to the basics of magic missile with regards to accuracty and number of missiles cast.
The differences are appearance, how damage is dealt, and the residual effect after being shot.
Each missile is bright white energy and flies forth with an audible hum. The magical energy is sonic in nature and does the same damage as a normal magic missile. Due to the harmonics of the missile, a shield spell will only negate half of the damage of each shot.
Any creature struck will then resonate for one hour per point of damage dealt with a maximum of 6 hours. This resonance is extremely high pitched, about 40,000 Hertz. Any creature which can hear in that range gets a +20 to perception to locate the source, even if invisible. The sound can be heard in normal open conditions up to 300 feet. Animals which can hear in that range include most smaller mammals, dogs, cats, and bats.
