Journal Entry 05.04 - The Feast Conclusion

The Feast of the Banshee Spider concludes. A third expedition is approved to head back north to Canton to look for Vilikek’s younger brother. The party wishes to lead this expedition as it involves Canton.

General Summary

The feast winds down to a close on the third night. As it does, more important matters loom ahead. Many delegations have come from far and wide from both to the north and to the west. The delegations have consisted of members from more than just elves. There were delegations from a group of intelligent apes, from the centaurs, several members of the fey community, an interest from the minotaurs far to the west, and a few tengus. Not to mention at least eight elf tribes are represented.
Even before the feast wound down, councils were taking place in the daytime to discuss the harbinger threat and collect more information. From what the party can glean, not much new information is present. Several suspicion that the elf girl Kinsi might be involved, but if so, no one is certain how. For now, she is being protected as if she is an asset, not a threat.
The recent memories being restored to three of the party members has added a slight wrinkle to its plans, however, the party seems still set upon the course of action decided before the feast. Head out and look for the missing recon party of elves which were traveling up to Canton to determine what had happened to it. Unlike some of the other villages or tribes destroyed by the harbinger threat, Canton was destroyed by what appears to be a more mundane threat of marauders – probably lizard men.
The elders of Korlastra (or Kerlastra – seems to go back and forth), give their blessing on such a third exploration and have some aids to offer in such a search, however they aren’t willing to give those aids to strangers, even if they did aid in the banshee spider hunt. They believe there should be representatives from the tribe for the search mission.
A compromise is struck.
Vilikek was a member of the first party of four elves which went to explore Canton and his report was the initial report that it had been ransacked by lizard men and something evil was happening in and around the village. His report was serious enough that a second party was sent to further explore. Stories of the harbinger were starting to pour in, and it was wondered if the evil in and around Canton wasn’t responsible.
The second party was six elves and included Vilikek’s younger brother, which is at least a month overdue. With the family ties, and the obvious mistrust Vilikek seems to hold toward Morvion, he insists on going with them. The elders agree as does the party. Vilikek will be the only elf from Korlostra to travel with the party. He has part of a bonded heart stone, one part per sibling, that his brother also has a part of. He believes that once he gets within a few miles of his brother’s stone, he will be able to find him.
The day after the feast is finished, everyone is rested up, and supplies replenished, the party sets out.
The game will take up two days out, nearing the Zygarosse River, as the party heads north.
