Journal Entry 05.00 - The Feast
The basic rules and guidelines for the PC's during the feast. Includes Sending Logs with Dame Imokan.
General Summary
This event occurs around the time between Party Journal 4 and Party Journal 5. Something new, something for Christmas, something for the group.
The celebration Feast of Ascension for J’arbey is held eight days later after the successful hunt of the banshee spider.

A great spectacle, the feast has almost 220 people attending and will span 3 days and nights. While celebration is the goal, an undercurrent exists as many have arrived for talks concerning the coming of the harbinger far to the west. The dreams have been increasing, and outside of the dreams, only a few survivors of the destroyed societies have any information. From them, little information is gleaned except everyone in the village just suddenly died. Along with the neighboring elven tribes, other friends are attending. Several fey beings are present, there is a treant, a few satyrs, a medusa-spawn, even a centaur. Even a bardic band all the way from Chrailis is playing each night. If you check on Roll20, the map currently shows the feast with several tokens with names. I recommend zooming in to get as close a look as possible at each token – this might give you an inkling of the conversation to come. These are the current guests at the feast. They may change as some come and go over the Christmas break. The guidelines for this event are as follows.
- First and foremost, this is just for fun. Whether you participate or not will have little effect on the overall game.
- You may pick up to 3 participants to speak with. Do so one at a time, don’t pick a 2nd until you are finished talking to the first. You can go back and talk to your 1st person as your 3rd person.
- When you pick a participant, I will write you a little bit about them. Give you some starting information. Then you can proceed to have a discussion with them by asking “small talk” type questions. Start with just one or two. They might ask a question of you back in the exchange.
- Each exchange will consist of 3 to 4 questions max. Again, this will be small talk type exchanges, nothing major. As such, if your questions are too inappropriate for the situation, the guest may just walk away or give you short curt replies.
- There isn’t any important need to know the information to be gained, this is just for fun. No quests, no take this note to the person over there, no dinner murder mysteries to solve (at least probably on this last one, no guarantees). In meta-gaming terms, most of all that will be gained will be an additional flavor to the story.
- If someone else is already talking to a token you are speaking with, you may have to wait your turn.
- These guidelines may change, as we get into it. Having not done anything quite like this before, I don’t know where it will lead.
- Feel free to post in public in this channel if you want everyone to see the conversations, or post in private with a direct message to myself. I would encourage everyone to make most your conversations in public. Simply start with something like “I wish to speak to King Rocco first.”
