Gossip of Chrailis

From time to time, this will be updated. There won't be any notification as such. Right now, none of the characters are acting on any of the gossip. Should that change, this article might see a lot more activity.

• Si-Nassapherion has been more active than usual for this time of year. Some say she is actively exploring her city in polymorphed form looking for something. If you are lucky, you might actually enter into a conversation with her.





• While it has been long known that the Arcane guild occasionally activates gates between Chrailis and other cities, they have now made known that they have established a permanent gate. For the right price, those not of the guild can travel to distant lands. Some say it could be as much as 1000 golden orbs per person.


• Rumors are circulating that a 2nd world gate has been found and this one is currently leading to the far western lands of the elves. Travel at this time is restricted, however vacationists are lining up in hopes of traveling to savage lands.


• The Rangers have been actively trying to quell a recent group of brigands, calling themselves the Rough Sons, south of the city in the Deep Marsh which have been hunting and preying off the lizard folk tribes. While this has been going on for years, the apparent result has been an increase in the militarization of the lizard folk tribes due south. Rather than trying to create large offensive to put down the lizard folk, it has been determined that possibly reigning the Rough Sons in might be more prudent and cost effective.


• Rumor is the Rough Sons are now offering bounty on lizard men tails. Who is funding this is unknown.
• It's being reported that in the last few weeks a large group of Rough Sons went deep south in the black marshes and met with disaster and were massacred. If rumors are true only a few survivors made it back Chrailis. They tell of large black scaled lizard men with frightful martial skills operating like a highly trained military unit.


• The Tribute Barge never came. Not uncommon, however its been at least 10 years since it was delayed by this long. The Tribute Barge is a biannual event when a series of unmanned flatboat barges float down river from parts unknown. In the barges are countless minor items, treasures, ingots of iron and other metals. Where or why they come down river is unknown, what is known is that the local merchant guilds rely on these goods and raw materials coming in on a regular basis to stay in business and keep Chrailis thriving.


• The forecasters are predicting a nasty rainy season. Don't be surprised if there are several consecutive days of rainfall this fall.


• Someone has poisoned several Aristocrats at a party in the past few months. More information needed. Curing the poison is most difficult. Most survived. Who and why? One of the effects of the poison is a loss of memory.
• Other recent poisonings have been rumored to be traced possibly back to the north around the halfling farm lands.


• For the last several years, the Aristocrats have been conducting missions with the intent of abducting children from the surrounding populations. No one knows why. Possible sacrifice to Si'Nassa?
