Ghostingwood Tree

A slow-growing tropical tree of medium height, harvested occasionally for its magical wood.
The tree's wood is a dullish grey, rather unattractive, and considerably dense. Due to the difficulty in cutting the wood, it is almost never used in construction.
Among of the harder of tree woods, the true property of the wood is when specially prepared. Ghostingwood is slow to show it's location when rapidly moved. This means that by swinging the staff, the impact occurs about half a second before the visual is seen. This property makes it difficult for an opponent to block a strike from the weapon, requiring the opponent to observe other signals of where the staff is at by watching the arms and shoulders of their adversary.
Master's of ghostingwood weapons tend to minimalize any such movement which might betray the actual location of the staff during an attack.
