Chrailis Calendar

The Chrailis Calendar represents parallels a society which constantly embraces the idea of festivals, holidays, and celebrations. Both for the self and in the honor of Dragon Matron and her daughters. The oldest coteries take great pride in delivering great carnivals to the city.

The first four days of the year are considered the summer festival and are held immediately following the end of the previous year which is also the longest day of the year.
Each week is 8 days. Each day essentially translates into 1st day, 2nd day, 3rd day, and so on. The last two days of the week are considered the rest days from the toils of the week. Deedau is also known as the day of games, as many athletes throughout the city use this day for competition. Acthdau is a day of meditation and many spend it both recovering from Deedau but also spend it in quiet reflection.

The year is divided into 20 months. 10 lesser months and 8 greater months. Lesser months consist of 24 days or 3 weeks. Greater months are 41 days, or 5 weeks and a celebration day at the start of the month. That day is not a day of the week, it is known as the House Day, or specifically. the name of the coterie who is hosting the celebration followed by dau. For example, if the house of Si'Unas the guardian of the month and hosting the celebration, then that day is known as Si'Unas Dau.
During the celebrations, large parades occur around the city along with several circuses along with other forms of revelry. For instance, during the Spring quarter revel, several boat races occur along the Zygarosse River. During the Autumn quarter revel, a two day masquerade party is held.
