With the arrival of COVID-19 it had me thinking, what sort of illness and epidemies would plague people in the world of Un? Below is an account of the first Yiwon Virus recorded by Doctor Uloso si. Pan.

In 1749, that is in the 23rd year of the wield of King Wion, a great death spread forth throughout the world, beginning in the southern and northern lands, its bane was so great that half of mankind remained alive. A great death of animals followed on the heels of this reaping. Rents dwindled and land was left untilled for want of peasant tenants who were nowhere to be found. Evils of man followed these ills that afterwards the world could never go back to its former hood.

Prognosis

If a child is born to a woman who contracts the illness during the birthing process theirs a 45% possibility for a child to be born with the forenamed abilities:

• Psychic Powers such as levitation, shields, psychic blast, the control of natural elements
• Heighten speed
• Heightened reflexes
• Impressive strength

People who survive the illness are left with a scared neck or discolored skin where the red rash appeared; those who survived have taken to wearing scarves or long necked shirts to hide their scars.

Sequela

The virus takes three days before heat sweats and vomiting begin, once established the infected will feel weak kneed so its good to keep them well fed with hot soups, hard bread, and honey mixed with vinegar and beer.

Prevention

The locals have taken to wearing some type of face covering when out and about, and many places of business wont allow entry until hands are washed and dried at the door of the establishment. Once eateries and counters are clear of customers its customary for the staff to clean the tables down with a mixture of boiled uric, lye, and water.

Epidemiology

Outbreaks tend to appear in areas near in and around the local marketplace, then spread out towards the country and nearby settlements. With living conditions being small and somewhat cramped in the cities the outbreaks spread faster in the cities, it might take months to reach cities and towns in the country.
