What Remains in Central Meta

The central plains of Meta are dangerous for two distinct reasons. The civil war between Eastern and Western Lieo often escapes its own borders, leaving nearby residents in harm's way. To the south is a similar conflict, one regarding socio-political clashes, this conflict is fairly new and explosive.
In centuries past, a vast settlement took hold here, with a size and populi so great, each corner was given a name. Hartford to the North, Glennfort the East, Fairwood the South, and Endshire the West. The settlement at large had no permanent name, changing with the times and culture.   Unfortunately, conflicts are one-and-many in Meta, and the settlement gave way to years' of battles, the elements, and time. All the remains in present day are scarce outposts, most residents having moved to large settlement over time or away from the constant conflicts. There are six outposts in total, named after fragmented signs displaying the corner of the settlement each is located in.   Hart, Glenn, Fort, Fair, Woods, and End are mere keys to the memory of Central Meta.   Hart and Fair, equal footing on opposite sides, find a similarity in their use as resting points for travelers. Though few natural resources remain, the outposts find themselves the half-way mark for Western and Central trade within Meta. Glenn and Woods stand as shelter for descendants of the central settlement, their cultures rich with strife and a bitter-refusal to simply accept disasters as they are. Fort is, well, a fort; standing tall, taking in conflict deserters and injured soldiers to its neutral ground. Thus leaves End, more-so a living monument than the other outposts, few scholars visit but what little they have in numbers is more than made up in activity. Necromancers, realm-mergers, ghost-walkers, and aspiring voidists all flock to the End Outpost to practice their trade due to the lack of authority and restrictions.
