How the World Ended a Fourth Time

It is well-known that Ultimus has survived many extreme disasters, and that civilization has rebuilt itself many times over. What is not known, at least to the greater majority of the population, is that Ultimus has reincarnated a total of five times so far, and each incarnation has brought with it more advanced and difficult technology and magic. Cultures change so much with each round that eventually they end up mirroring their first lives, powers built and destroyed and rebuilt as hollow versions of what could have been.
Strangely, items from the last incarnation prove more difficult to find than previous eras; this is often contributed to the way the last incarnation ended. Many items found are extremely damaged, faded, and buried deep into the earth. Descriptions of the final moment include accounts of tremors, eclipses, and "A tsunami wave so great the deep green-blue is all I see now."
Now, obviously, a world-wide scale earthquake took place and trigger a series of tsunamis that wiped out civilization and buried their belongings and stories deep into nothingness. The catalyst, while still unknown, is thought to be caused by a 'great awakening' according to religious groups such as Paragons of Virtue. These theories, and many like it, have no scientific or factual hold to them, no proof, and certainly no connections between story and reality.
This disaster is the largest of its caliber to date and makes any modern storm or natural disaster look like a performance from a child, thinking they are as great as any professional but in reality is just a tired-crashing mess. One odd detail about the records of this disaster is the toll, or lack thereof, on The Island of Tod; which is suggested to be the 'eye' of this disastrous storm. The closer to the island one searches, the less damage, and evidence of the past incarnation can be found.
