Dead Man's Hope

During the early 1200s, the first great war in Meta started between the North and the South and ultimately clashed forces in what is now known as Northern Steid. It is here that a large military base, used primarily as a storage facility, was caught in the crossfire as a battle took place over control of the area. After decades of battles the base was suddenly abandoned, all the supplies within ran out and new bases had since been built elsewhere. This base, once full of bloodshed and violence, was left to waste with nature and victims of battles before it.   Move forward a few centuries, it is the 1600s NW and you are apart of a group of refugees escaping a battle in Southern Steid. In between overgrowth are strange formations, some you barely recognize thanks to their resemblance to modern-day technology, vehicles, and machines litter the area you sought to hide in. Among the gathering of trees ahead, between hanging vines and weeds, cracked concrete just barely makes itself known.   You are standing before the once great Central Meta Emergency Base, a place you grew up to believe had been destroyed after all these years of fighting. Despite all the damage taken over time, it was designed to last, and you would make this your home.

New Life

Perfectly sectioned and organized in its glory days, what remains of the base serves well as a shelter was all who seek it. While the supplies are long gone there was plenty to be used; beds and framework for furniture still laid peacefully in place, containers, and papers, rooms meant for all sorts of purposes made for excellent privacy and workspaces.   It wasn't long until more refugees stumbled into the area, and with each batch left messengers to recruit others and gather supplies. As time went on, even soldiers from all fights sought sanctuary amongst the twisted trees and overgrowth used as coverage. Slowly the base transformed, from a place where lives were mercilessly taken, to a place of hope.
