Kalash

Scion of Death

"Behold the wisdom of the one that has seen them all. Each and every one eventually has to pass through his domain for he is the Guard, the Keeper, the Eternal. He watches the afterlife. He is the end."   Marcus Leigh - Zealot to Kalesh and the Royal Bloodline
His domain is the Everrealm, the one that comes beyond the judgement. Only those worth of it get their place inside the eternal spirit realm. It is closely layered to Hespath and thus allows him the biggest influence over there. He follows strict codes to ensure the afterlife for everybody inside of his realm and watches closely that the boundary between this life and the next is not disturbed. His wisdom gets passed down through the Ancestral Council on the material plane, a committee put in place after the people of Al'Qaro started breaking the boundaries between the elemental planes. They are to ensure that would never happen to the fragile wall between life and death. Because of his strong influence over the region he is nowadays the only accepted and worshiped deity behind the large walls. And also the only allowed form of magic inside the walls. His biggest worshiping place is inside Merak a large city built around a giant temple dedicated to the ancestors of long times past.

Church, Rites, Rituals, Holy Days

The Church to Kalesh has its biggest following inside of Hespath as it is closely layered to the Everrealm and thus has the biggest spiritual influence. It is the only religion that is allowed to be practiced inside the walls of Hespath for any other may be too dangerous for the populace. The biggest holy site can be found inside Merak - The Eternal City, which is created around one gigantic temple dedicated to Kalash. Each settlement inside of Hespath also has smaller templesites that are usually adjecent to a graveyard or some kind of necropolis.   Holy Days dedicated to Kalash are celebrated all throughout the country at the day the royals started building the wall for the security of the population of Hespath. Another day celebrated is a day of guidance once a year in spring, where followers go to Merak to earn the gift of guidance from the ancestors of long time past.   One of the widely known rituals that takes place inside Merak is also the one for the coming of age ceremony for the royals where they enter a symbiotic relationship with one of their ancestral spirits.

Ancestral Council

The spirits that bond with the royal bloodline are those of ruling generations past that come back to support and lead those ruling today. They belong to an Order called the Ancestral Council. They choose with a vote which of those of the council is supposed to be next in line to support the royal bloodline. At any time inside the committee are at least 5 spirits that follow the strict codes the Eternal put upon them. When a Royal dies he can choose to either join the council or move on for the afterlife. With Hespath being so closely layered to the spirit plane it is easier for spirits and ghosts to influence the country. Most Hespathians believe the ancestors will guide them and help them through their life.   The Ancestral Council is overseen by the Scion of Death which always has a seat at the head of the councils table even though he rarely takes it.   On the Material Plane the Royal Bloodline is basically an extension of the Ancestral Council and thus speaks in the name of Kalash to the people.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Kalash wishes to safeguard the afterlife from intrusion or eventual escapies. Because of the fragile boundaries between Hespath and the Ethereal Plane he takes specific interest in guiding the people there in his very own way.   While he does not personally guide the people he lets the spirits do that job and follow strict rituals and ceremonies that ensure the safety of the afterlife.
