Universe (Matter)
'...something amalgamated in the thin air...emanating a speckled grey light and sucking in the wind, particles from the earth, and wisps of cloud; swirling together, something solidified, and as quickly the cloud and its elements cemented into a large figure.
...Another quick flash of light, parts of their body bulging and slowly compressing, until finally They settled onto the ground; frowning; specific features still grey and undecided, neither shaped by curves or lines; and then—a snap—the Universe solidified, hardened, and They stood with arms crossed, leaned a little to one side. Their eyes—cloudy and shifting colors around whitened irises circling black holes, opals trapped and carved and painted perfect—darted around...and [she] appeared.
“Who.. did you bring me here? Who are you?” she asked slowly.
“Hm.. who am I?” They thought for a moment, looking downward and glancing in [her] direction; their eyes blurring at the edges for a snap second—
—immediately They stood tall, grinning maniacally. “That’s right!” They shouted, snapping their fingers. “It’s been so long, I’ve only just remembered it now. The Universe, they call me in this language”—They bowed deeply, extending their left hand as they did so; standing again, They snatched a cane out of thin air...They looked up at [her] again, and without breaking eye contact, their body shifted again; hair shortening and straightening out black until it was just ear-length; jacket shortening and lightening and painting the stars over its surface; narrowed eyes settling deeper and smoothing into impossibly narrower slits of scorn. Universe grew in height just by a little, still scowling, and then pausing, They shook their head and relaxed; taking in a deep breath, sighing out and shaking out arms that fleshed out and redressed a few different shades before finally relaxing fully, hair flipping out and braiding itself all the way down their back, black roots stark against pink-pale skin.
